Join the Conversation

Hohbach Hall features an Interactive Wall near the entrance to the library.  It changes throughout the year based on new prompts and contributions from library visitors. This is a space for patrons and Stanford community members to participate in exhibition-related dialogue.

As part of Yes I Am: The Richard Weiland Story, we are asking patrons to reflect on community. 

"I want to live with dignity, and fun. I want to have energy, I want to have people around me whom I respect, who excite me, yet who I feel comfortable with. People who are cute, and have heart, and some brains." - Richard Weiland

Richard "Ric" Weiland (1953-2006) often wrote about what type of community he was searching for as he considered living in major metropolitan areas along the West Coast. At the heart of his musings and declarations was a deep need for a sense of belonging. 

What type of community do you want to belong to?
